Burner Service, Flame Safeguards, and Fuel Conversions

Burners
We service all makes and models of burners including Webster, Gordon Piatt, Kewanee Industrial Combustion, Power Flame, Coen, Peabody, Todd, and NAT-COM. We can provide replacement burners for your boiler installed by factory trained technicians. At no cost to you, we will survey your present burner and make recommendations based on your needs and insurance requirements.

Combustion Efficiency Tune-up
Each service technician maintains a solid state electronic flue gas analyzer to provide the necessary data to adjust the combustion of your boiler for peak efficiency. Every tune-up includes a detailed combustion report for your review which focuses on combustion efficiency. If required, we have analyzers which will provide printed recordings of 02, CO, CO2, NOX, SO2, temperatures, and efficiency performance.

Flame safeguards provide the sequencing and safety control interlock for your boiler. It controls the firing cycle by sequencing the unit through pre-purge, pilot, main fuel, and post-purge. By examining inputs from the various safety controls monitoring your boiler operations, the flame safeguard determines if the unit should remain firing, or be shutdown because of an unsafe condition. It also detects if a flame is present and takes appropriate action. PBBS can troubleshoot, repair, replace, or upgrade your flame safeguard control.

Typical flame safeguard controls include Fireye, Honeywell, and Cleaver-Brooks.

Fuel Conversions
Often times it is beneficial to be able to burn two different fuels. Natural gas suppliers normally provide discounted rates to customers who can switch to an alternate fuel during a "peak time". Or, you may have a new fuel option which would lower your operating costs. Whatever the case, we can work with you to convert your existing burner, when possible, to burn the fuel(s) of your choice or provide you with a new burner to do the job.
